From poems to short stories to autobiographies to much more, young writers are getting a burst of writing inspiration today!
Encourage young writers to test their author skills through my blog.
Yes, even kids are specialists – in their own way. Many kids have great interest in topics that some adults find difficult. As the kids reach for the teen years they become more in tune to trends, I guess because they are the future.
Let’s harness this youthful growth energy with growing their artistic skills as well.
I list a few projects that could interest them, one or all would be beneficial.
I would like someone to have their child or children provide a book review on whatever they are reading. I will post it on this blog and the groups book review site, then they will be writers that are published.
Create a chain story, which is a fun, collaborative-writing strategy. Write the beginning of a story. Pass it on to me and I will match the word count and send it back. Then your child can write some more send it back and I will match it again and repeat it over again until they are bored and they can then write the ending or I can.
I will give advice when asked and we can discuss authors challenges like writer’s block, using the thesaurus and anything thing else needed.
Any child considering becoming a writer or author should start out with a diary or journal. This provides daily practice and perfects their skill through them learning to review their work, particularly with a fresh eye when they look at the post from the day before.
If You can cajole your children to participate I pledge to help them maintain a positive attitude in the face of criticism, set goals and meet them so the new crew of authors includes them.
